About

SpaceJump lets you assign names, icons, and colors to macOS Spaces and switch between them instantly via a Quick Switcher. It displays the current Space in the menu bar, tracks time per Space, and supports automations like Focus Mode — all without disabling SIP.

Who It's For

SpaceJump is for Mac users who heavily use macOS Spaces and find the default experience lacking — anonymous numbered spaces, no quick keyboard navigation beyond Ctrl+arrow, and no way to know which space holds which work at a glance. SpaceJump adds names, icons, and colors to each Space, a quick switcher you invoke with ⌥+Space, and a menu bar indicator showing your current Space. At $9.99 one-time, no SIP required, it's a focused enhancement of the native Spaces system rather than a replacement.

How It Works

SpaceJump integrates with macOS Spaces via the Accessibility API. You assign each Space a name (e.g. "Code", "Comms", "Design"), an icon, and an accent color. The Quick Switcher — activated with ⌥+Space by default — opens a searchable list of all your named Spaces; type a few letters and press enter to jump there instantly. A jump back shortcut returns you to your previous Space, useful for quickly referencing something and returning to your main context. The menu bar permanently displays your current Space name. Per-Space time tracking shows how long you've spent in each Space. Space automations can trigger actions like enabling Focus Mode when switching to a specific Space.

Compared to Similar Tools

Compared to FlashSpace (free, replaces native Spaces with a window-hiding model), SpaceJump works with native Spaces and adds UX on top. FlashSpace is faster and more reliable for switching; SpaceJump stays within the native paradigm for users who want App Store safety and native integration. Compared to SpaceAtlas (grid navigation of native Spaces, €24.89), SpaceJump focuses on naming/quick switching rather than spatial grid navigation. For users who want the fastest named-Space jumping without adopting a non-native workspace model, SpaceJump's Quick Switcher is the most direct solution.
