About

SpaceAtlas arranges macOS Spaces into a customizable grid you navigate directionally with keyboard shortcuts. Assign apps to specific Spaces for persistent placement, save and switch profiles, and use wormholes and nexuses for accelerated movement across your layout. Requires macOS 15.

Who It's For

SpaceAtlas is for macOS Spaces power users who want to navigate their Spaces spatially on a grid rather than linearly in a row. The default macOS Spaces behavior — swipe left or right to move between Spaces in a linear sequence — becomes cumbersome when you have more than a few Spaces. SpaceAtlas turns your Spaces into a 2D grid where you navigate up, down, left, and right with keyboard shortcuts, creating a spatial memory model where "design work is top-right, coding is center, communications is bottom-left." It requires macOS 15 Sequoia.

How It Works

SpaceAtlas maps your existing macOS Spaces into a configurable grid layout. You assign each Space a position in the grid and navigate with directional shortcuts (customizable). App-to-Space assignment sends specific apps to specific Spaces automatically, keeping your layout consistent across launches. Profiles let you save different grid configurations for different work modes, switching between them instantly. Wormholes and nexuses are accelerated navigation shortcuts that jump directly to frequently-used Spaces across the grid, bypassing the need to navigate step-by-step.

Compared to Similar Tools

Compared to FlashSpace (free), SpaceAtlas uses native macOS Spaces while FlashSpace replaces them with a custom window-hiding layer. SpaceAtlas is better for users who want to stay within the native Spaces paradigm; FlashSpace is better for users who want faster switching and don't mind departing from native Spaces. SpaceAtlas requires macOS 15 Sequoia while FlashSpace requires macOS 14. The freemium model offers 40 days free before requiring purchase.
