How It Works

BetterSnapTool registers global hotkeys and watches for window drag events via the macOS Accessibility API. When you drag a window near a configured edge, corner, or custom zone, a snap preview appears. Custom snap areas let you define zones beyond the built-in set — useful for ultrawide monitors or non-standard layouts. Keyboard shortcuts cover all supported positions. Multi-monitor setups are handled by separate snap configurations per display.

Getting Started

Purchase from the Mac App Store and launch. Grant Accessibility permission when prompted. The menu bar icon opens the preferences where you configure snap zones and shortcuts. Custom zones are added under Preferences → Custom Snap Areas.
