Cursor Craft is a free native macOS app for browsing, installing, and switching custom cursor sets from a catalog of hundreds of pointer sets. Sets apply in one click as real system pointers — no .cape files or manual setup — and you can revert to the default macOS cursor at any time. Optional premium packs are one-time in-app purchases with no subscription.

Who It's For

Cursor Craft is for Mac users who want to change how the pointer actually looks, not just its size or colour, without hunting down cursor files and helper tools themselves. It's aimed at people who'd rather pick a set from a catalog and apply it in one click than assemble and import theme packs by hand.

How It Works

macOS's own settings only go so far: in the project's words, "In System Settings you can only make the existing cursor bigger, recolor it, or shake to find it." Cursor Craft replaces the system pointers themselves — "These are system pointers, not a browser overlay" — so a set applies across the whole Mac rather than inside a single app.

The app is built around a catalog. Hand-picked packs and recent releases sit up front, Explore has category filters, and purchased packs are kept together in a Library. Hovering a tile previews the set, with the pointer on the left and the hand cursor on the right. Applying a set is a single click with no .cape files and no dragging images into System Settings, and you can switch sets or revert to the default macOS cursor from inside the app. Cursor Craft v2 (released August 2026) rebuilt the app for faster browsing and clearer offline states, and improved cursor rendering to support animated packs — which the project notes are "still growing." There are no keyboard shortcuts or scripting; everything is done through the GUI.

Compared to Alternatives

Cursor Craft's own docs position it against Mousecape: "Mousecape can do this too, with helper tools and .cape packs you import yourself. Cursor Craft is the same idea without the file wrangling." Compared to MaCursor, which is free and open source with a built-in theme editor, Windows .cur/.ani import, and global hotkeys for switching themes, Cursor Craft is closed source and centred on a curated catalog with optional paid packs rather than on authoring or importing your own themes. MaCursor also requires macOS 15, while Cursor Craft supports macOS 13 and later.

Getting Started

Download Cursor Craft from the website and open the catalog. Hover a set to preview its pointer and hand cursors, then click to apply it.
